Hi
I have a Sky HD box model number 902020 Version number 4E3006 Operating System version 1.32B12 EPG Software Version sky+8.3.2

on some channels (most of the movie channels and the kids channels) I keep getting no satellite signal being received, I check the signal strength and there is nothing in the input 1 and input 2 boxes. Then at other times of the day I get these channels, sometimes with picture breakup and at other times no picture break up. the signal strength shows about 75 % for quality and strength in the 1st input but shows nothing on the second input for either strength or quality. On other channels the second input shows up to 100% for signal quality and 70% for signal strength. I have changed over the feeds into the back of the Sky box from the dish, but it is always input 2 registering no strength or quality in the signal meter. we also went away recently to find a failed recording due to power cut even though nothing else in the house showed a power cut had taken place.
do I have a power supply issue or a dish alignment issue or both?
Thanks
Brian

What's the MAKE and MODEL number on the label? If it's a Thomson DSI8215 see http://www.SatCure.co.uk/tech/thom_psu.htm

Thanks for the reply. It is indeed the Thomson DSI8215.
I have taken the cover off the box now, and 4 capacitors are bulging. I have ordered the repair kit and hopefully this will fix the box.
