|
I have the camping satellite kit, COMAG SC25-S from Maplin, with LP401 Single Universal LNB.
I'm a sat newbie. I am trying to get all the free channels on Astra 19.2E, in SE England. I have many but not all. Can't get the German or Polish ones, but can get Pakistan, NHK in Japan, CNN, RT, etc.
TP Index for TVP Polonia is 10773mhz, When I tune to that I get the same strength signal as for the channels which I do successfully receive, ie a green strip meaning good. But no picture or sound. Ditto for the German stations. Yesterday I moved the dish and got the german stations but not the polish ones, today I moved the dish again and now can't get the german or polish and lost Aljazeera Arabic and a few others.
What am I doing wrong? am I mm out from the correct alignment or misunderstanding something? I assume there are different transponders for different channels or groups of channels, I don't understand why when signal shown as good there's picture and sound for some but not for all. None of these channels is scrambled as far as I know.
The signal intensity for the dud Polish channel transponder is the same as for the channels I can receive (about 92% intensity, 72% quality)
The frequency seems correct, V or H polarity correct, transponder index correct, so just can't understand why I can get some of the channels on that satellite but not others.
Also can Astra 29.2 and 19.2 be received without me moving the dish, How can I have both Astras without moving the dish even a little ? Because from the listings of viewable channels it seems some are 19.2 and some 28.2 according to the info box. But the antenna set up screen says I am on Astra 19.2
Apologies if this is all a lot of dumb questions, I have searched the board here and come up with no answers except that maybe I need a 60cm.
Been struggling with this last few days, any help appreciated. |

| It certainly seems as if you have not aligned the dish on Astra-2 but probably on an adjacent satellite cluster. |

Thank you for replying, but I don't know what you mean. I've spent all this week reading up on satellites and all I know is I thought I needed a satellite called 19.2E owned by SES-Astra, that is also known as 1KR ?!
I don't know what adjacent cluster means, no idea at all, I have heard of other sats like Hotbird, Eurobird, Turksat, but I have the receiver saying I am on Astra 19.2E on H polarisation. |

I've read the first link before, I read up on getting waterproof boots etc, I've been all over your site, I didn't understand clusters then and I don't now, I don't understand how I can be receiving "part" of Astra 19.2E and not others, from this site http://www.digitalsat.co.uk/astra1_19e.html it seems like I am hitting 1L and maybe 1 or 2 others but not 1KR. So I really don't understand how to make sure I hit them all, been adjusting and adjusting for days - no luck, just hitting some and not others.
Anyway thanks, I'll read the ebook if I get time, if I can understand it then it may tell me why I can get some from Astra-1 (19.2E) but not others, I'm guessing there must be 1mm or less in it that's causing this problem.
cheers for the pointers, ciao |
